Paper Saturation and Surface Covering
Impregnation is the process that enables all kind of papers to be loaded up with the exact amount of thermosetting resin for it to react during subsequent pressing operation. The impregnation process is performed continuously on lines that are provided with immersion bath in which the paper is accurately and uniformly saturated on both sides with liquid resin before metering rolls remove excess resin and drying ovens evaporate the proper quantity of water.
The coating process is the operation by means of which a specific chemical product of given rheological characteristics is laid on a continuous substrate. The industrial process is not only limited to the coating station itself but is integrated with other machines and devices that make up a complete production line. The main purpose of coating is to improve the aesthetic appearance of the finished product whilst also giving the surface itself specific technical properties.
Knowledge and experience are a must to design and manufacture an efficient and performing impregnation and coating line.
